Application
- Can I apply for a card without credit history in the U.S.?
- Yes. We verify the length of time of employment with the sponsoring company, earnings in home country, as well as, U.S. income and we obtain current contact address in home country and/or the U.S. Therefore, when applying for this card, please provide related information from your home country. Please note, not all requests for credit will be approved.
- After I apply, how long does it take to receive my JAL USA CARD?
- It takes approximately three weeks. Upon approval, you will receive your card along with a complete Welcome Kit and card member agreement explaining the features, benefits, and details pertaining to the use of your JAL USA CARD.
- I don't have a Social Security Number yet. Can I apply for a card?
- You can apply if you are not allowed to have a Social Security Number due to your visa status. We may request substitute documents such as a copy of your passport or visa, or address verification.
- Can a card be mailed to my work address?
- Neither company name nor department name will print on the card envelope. A card can be sent to your work address if you are able to receive it without these identifiers. However, if you applied for your card from Japan, the relocation date must be fixed when applying
- I live in Mexico (or Canada). Can I apply for a JAL USA CARD?
- No, you can not. The cardholder must be a US resident.
- How do I get an application form?
- Please request an application using the inquiry form and provide us with your address and phone number. The application form will be delivered in approximately 1 week. It is more convenient to apply online.

JAL USA CARD
- I currently have JAL Family Club/Premio Card. Can I change this card to JAL USA CARD?
- When will my shopping miles be posted to my JAL mileage bank account?
- Shopping mile will be posted by 20th of the following month when a statement is closed.
Example:Mileage accumulation for a statement closed on May 15
Shopping mile will be posted on June 26. (Posted date will be the statement closing date.)
Please call JMB Center 1-800-525-3663 for mileage reimbursement and all inquiries other than shopping miles.
- Shopping mile will be posted by 20th of the following month when a statement is closed.
- When will my 5000 first flight bonus miles and 10% sector miles be posted to my JAL mileage bank account?
- 10% sector miles will be posted 4 to 5 days after you complete your flight. 5000 first flight bonus miles will be posted by middle of the month following the completion of your flight.
- I have informed my new address and/or JMB number to JMB Center. Will the information automatically updated for JAL USA CARD?
- Your billing address and JMB number will not change automatically for JAL USA CARD. Please contact service center to change information.
How to use JAL USA CARD
- Are there any fees or interest for a cash advance?

- I entered the wrong PIN during a cash advance transaction and since then my card has been blocked. What should I do?
- Your card is blocked automatically if you press the wrong PIN three times. Please contact customer service to unblock your card. If you have forgotten your PIN, we will send you a new PIN by mail.
- Can I use my JAL USA CARD outside of the US?
- You can use your JAL USA CARD at MasterCard merchants all over the world. There is a foreign transaction fee of 3% of each transaction. Please note that the issuing bank monitors transactions and may block your card for security purposes. Some merchants do not accept cards issued outside their country. We recommend that you inform us before you travel.

- When I use my JAL USA CARD, will my US credit history be affected?
- Your payment performance will be reported to credit bureaus so that you can build US credit history. This is not applicable if you have not registered a social security number.
Statement and Payment
- My balance reached my credit limit before the statement closing date and I presently have no available credit line. What should I do?
- You may make a payment before the closing date. Once the payment is posted, your available credit will be restored to your credit limit. Please visit online account access to make an online payment.

- My payment has not been processed, however it has been some time since I mailed a check. What should I do?
- If you mailed your payment, it usually takes approximately 4-5 business days to post. Please wait 10 business days and if your payment has still not posted, the payment may be lost, and therefore please call service center.
- When is my statement closing date?
- Every account has a different set statement closing date. Your statement is mailed the following business day after the statement closing date. Please contact service center to inquire on your closing date. You can check your statements online as well.
- What is "Minimum Payment Due" on my statement?
- The "Minimum Payment Due" is the minimum amount you should pay by the end of the due date. If you do not pay this amount, your account status will be changed to "Past Due" and a Late Fee will be charged to your account. The Late Fee will be determined as follows:
$35 if New Balance is less than $500.00 and $39 if New Balance is $500.00 or more. For additional information about Annual Percentage Rates (APRs), fees, and costs, see the Summary of Credit Terms.
- The "Minimum Payment Due" is the minimum amount you should pay by the end of the due date. If you do not pay this amount, your account status will be changed to "Past Due" and a Late Fee will be charged to your account. The Late Fee will be determined as follows:
- Can I make a payment by phone?
- Yes, you can pay by phone by calling service center. Please be aware there is a $15 charge for making a payment via the phone that will be posted the same day you call (or the next day if you call after 5 p.m. central USA time). However, if you use our automated phone system the fee will be waived.
- The sum of my current balance and available credit is not equal to my credit line. Why?
- There may be authorized transactions which have not been posted yet. The amount will be deducted from your available credit.
- How do I request previous statements?
- Please login to your online account and reprint your statement.
Online Account
- How do I use Online Account Access?
- First, you need to enroll in online account access. Then please click the "register here" button and enter the requested information.
- I do not have a Social Security Number due to my visa type. Can I use Online Account Access?
- Please call service center for instructions.
- I forgot my login name. What should I do?
- Please select "Lost Your Password or Login Name?" on the login screen.

- What is the procedure for online payment?
- Please select "Pay Online" and then click "Make Payment".
- Will an online payment be posted on the weekend or a holiday?
- Payments will not be processed on weekends and bank holidays.
- I use online payment. Do I still receive paper statements?
- Yes, your paper statement will continue to be issued monthly.
- Is there monetary limit for online payment?
- The maximum amount payable is equal to your current balance.
- When will my online payment be posted?
- If the payment is made before 3pm Eastern Time, it will be processed on the same day (excluding Sat/Sun and holidays) and it will reflect the available credit the next business day. If it is after 3pm Eastern Time, it will be processed on the following day and your available credit will be reflected the next day. The actual deduction from your bank account takes approximately 2 to 4 business days.
- I am planning to purchase an expensive item. Will the available credit exceed my credit limit if I make a payment for an amount more than my balance?
- No. The maximum amount you can pay is your current balance.
- The online payment I made has not posted. What is the reason?
- The bank account information provided may be wrong, or the balance in your bank account may not be sufficient.
- Can I cancel a payment which was made online?
- You can cancel the payment if it is done before 5:00 pm Central Time of the day of payment.
- I have closed my account but I still have a balance. Can I make a payment online?
- Yes, you can use online account access even after you have closed your account.
Closing your Account
- I would like to use my JAL USA CARD until just before I return to Japan. How do I cancel my card?
- Please call service center when you are ready to close your account. You may call service center in Japan at 0120-828-750. Business hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (Japan time). We are closed on public holidays.
